The Chairman of the Trust is Mr.G.D.Mitra, an educationalist with a post graduate degree in Mathematics and a Degree in Education. Having an experience of over 45 years in the field of education as teacher, academician and administrator he has a passion for imparting quality education to all classes of society especially the less privileged.
The Good Shepherd Education Trust was established in the year 1988 with Mr.G.D.Mitra as the Chairman. Serving the society in the field of school education for 30 years the Trust has made its mark in the field of education. The other Trust members also possess Masters Degrees in the field of Technical Education and are holding responsible positions in India and abroad.
Dr. K.S.Shaji, M.E., Ph.D
(Principal)
Dr. K.S.Shaji has completed Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University ,Madurai in 1989, Masters Degree from Thiagarajar College of Engineering ,Madurai in 1996 and earned her Ph.D. from Sathyabama University in 2007 with specialization in Communication Engineering.
She has started her career as Lecturer at The Indian Engineering College, Vadakkangulam in 1989 and then joined as Sr.lecturer in Sathyabama Engineering College, Chennai in 1995 and promoted as Assistant professor in 1999 and professor in 2004. From 2009 -2019 she was the principal of RIIT,Nagercoil and Sphoorthy Engineering College Hyderabad. She has a total of 30 years of teaching, Research and Administrative experience. She joined as Principal at Good Shepherd College of Engineering and Technology on 30.12.2020.
She served as member in the administrative/governance/academic bodies of several institutions. She served as reviewer of several journals and conferences. Dr Shaji has authored/ co-authored more than 70 publications in International / National journals and conferences and had attended several conferences/training programmes/workshops in India . Also guided 7 Ph.D Scholars and supervised several Master’s and B.Tech Projects. Her areas of interests are Communication Engineering, Networking, Biomedical Engineering and Adhoc Networking.
She has published a book on Microwave Communication.
She is LIFE MEMBER of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) ,LIFE MEMBER of Institute of Engineers (IE-Calcutta), FELLOW MEMBER of Institution of Electronics Telecommunication Engineer (IETE), MEMBER of International Association of Engineers-Society of Wireless Network (Hongkong).

Good Shepherd College of Engineering and Technology (GSCET) is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi & affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. This institution is run by “Good Shepherd Education Trust”. The Chairman of the Trust is Mr. G.D. Mitra, an educationalist with a Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics and a Degree in Education. Having experience of over 45 years in the field of education as a teacher, academician and administrator he has a passion for imparting quality education to all classes of the society, especially the less privileged younger generations mainly hailing from the rural areas.
The Good Shepherd Education Trust was established in the year 1988 for serving the society. Having an experience in the field of school education for 32 years, the trust has made its remarkable tag in the field of education. The other trust members also possess Masters Degree in the field of Technical Education and are holding responsible positions in India and abroad. The Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary School situated in Marthandam was established in the year 1988 and is well reputed all over the state for excellence in education. Over the last 32 years of its existence it has excelled academically producing very good results and rank holders in the public examinations. The Chairman’s ardent love for education and devotion to learning inspired him to establish an institution of higher learning and the Good Shepherd College of Engineering and Technology is the realization of his long time vision. Hence, the long awaited dream comes true for the welfare of rural communities.
The College offers world class education in Engineering and Technology and has well experienced, qualified staff members, state of art laboratories with all modern gadgets and well established learning centres with adequate volumes of Books and Journals. The College provides a wide variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities which give a head-start to students, developing their personality and imparting skills of decision-making and leadership. The Campus Placement Department assists the students to secure good jobs for a bright future.
Good Shepherd College of Engineering and Technology encourages innovation and creativity amongst our students and our Faculty members. Outcome Based Education
Good Shepherd College of Engineering and Technology endeavors to follow the Outcome Based Education (OBE)from the inception of the institution for all the programme offered under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) curriculum. It is targetted at achieving desirable outcomes (in terms of Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating and Create) at the end of the programme. Teaching with this awareness and making the associated effort constitutes Outcome Based Education. This entails a regular methodology for ascertaining the attainment of outcomes, and benchmarking these against the Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) consistent with the objectives of the programme.

Thus develop them into good technical professionals of high calibre. With ample opportunities for research and entrepreneurship the institution aims at equipping the students to meet the challenges of the industrial world as well as the diverse social needs of the nation.

COLLEGE EMBLEM
The college emblem with the image of Jesus Christ carrying a lamb in hand and holding a staff in the other hand represents the Good Shepherd College mission and vision in moulding the youth of our Institution with utmost care and affection assuring them all a bright future in the field of Engineering and Technology.
Symbolically, Jesus Christ is represented as a Good Shepherd. Sheep stands for students. Just as the main objective of a Good Shepherd is the protection and well being of his sheep, the main focus of the management and the faculty would be to assist, care for and lovingly provide all that is within their reach for enabling every student to achieve his best technically and personally. As the motto within the emblem suggests the college aims at enlightening every student so that they would all go into all the world as beacons of light – lighting up the lives of others.
